Joyful Moments: 2023, Shadowbox Picnic with Our NGO Kids
Spent a heartwarming day with our incredible NGO kids at a delightful picnic! 🌳☀️ Laughter echoed, sandwiches disappeared, and games filled the air with excitement.
Watching these young hearts enjoy the simple pleasures of nature reaffirms the magic of togetherness. Every smile, every giggle, tells a story of resilience and hope.
Our picnic wasn’t just about the delicious snacks and games; it was a celebration of these bright souls and the beautiful bond we share. Grateful for moments that remind us of the power of love and community.

Shadowbox Charitable Trust celebrates Republic Day 2023 with Holy Angel School and powered by Maersk A.P. Moller – Maersk held on 26 January 2023 at Mankhurd Mumbai.
We are always thankful to Maersk for the continuous support. Thanks to Maersk CSR Mumbai and Bangalore Team members for visiting our Shadowbox home and celebrated Republic Day with all our kids by providing us with snacks and water bottles our kids and students was excited to receive trophy’s and medals from you all.
Maersk pride event held at Pune
Shadowbox Charitable trust are feeling grateful to be part of event held by Maersk for the LGBT community in Pune and Mumbai Our kids performed Mime art showcasing the theme of. We are thankful to Maersk for giving us this wonderful opportunity. It was a learning and memorable experience for all of us. Shadowbox kids got exposure to performing in front of a large and cheerful audience. We always support and are proud of the LGBT community.

Shadowbox Charitable Trust project Shadow Parent kids gave a Mime act performance at the Maersk Pride event at Mumbai Maersk office Navi Mumbai Airoli on 24th August 2022. We once again are thankful to Maersk for giving us this wonderful opportunity. It was a learning and memorable experience for all of our kids also our kids got to know how Maersk works and kids were able to explore the Maersk office podium and Maersk employees shared their experiences with our kids about their work. Shadowbox kids got exposure to performing in front of large and cheerful Maersk employees.
We believe in equality and we always support and are proud of the LGBT community.
Shadowbox Diwali Fundraising Campaign
Every year Shadowbox Charitable Trust do fund raising activities for our project shadow parent kids for Diwali celebration and by this raised funds we buy new clothes, sweet’s, gifts and special foods.
We thank Maersk CSR Team & Maersk Employee for participating in our fundraising activities by painting Diyas and allowing us to setup a diya stall at your Mumbai office. We are so happy we raise good funds now we can buy new clothes & sweets for our NGO Childrens.

ShadowBox Team
The Shadowbox team initially started training for kids in Dharavi who were good in dance, acting, rapping etc. and supported them by providing space for practice sessions and food. We scheduled many classes/events for these kids and these classes were held by masters who shared their career experience with our kids and helped to enhance their skills and motivate them. We also conduct mime acting classes and martial art classes for kids which give them a chance to explore and learn new art forms. Many of our Shadowbox kids started their own dance classes, some have participated in television shows and some have acted in Bollywood movies (Gully boy)/kollywood movies (like Kala). That was our agenda to make them excel in their career. We held many awareness programs in slum areas where we discuss the importance of education, girl and women safety program, health awareness, hygiene importance, environmental awareness, awareness of the evils of child labor, human and child trafficking.
Why Slum Children?
Children are the building blocks of our nation’s future. Slum children are deprived of good educational facilities and other basic necessities. We invest in their potential today, and provide them a platform so that they can become our scientists, politicians, sportspeople, journalists and teachers of tomorrow!
All children are vulnerable to neglect, violence and abuse but marginalization further compounds such vulnerability. Exposure to unsafe environments can negatively impact the physical, emotional, mental and social development of the child and the damage is often permanent.
We believe that building a safe environment for all children, till the age of 18 years, is critical to protect them from abuse and exploitation. And, to provide them all the basic necessities for their bright future will help them to build up their career.
We save children from child trafficking
Child trafficking is about taking children out of their protective environment and preying on their vulnerability for the purpose of exploitation.
In India, children are trafficked for different purposes including labour, commercial sexual exploitation, marriage, adoption and even organ trading.
Victims of child abuse are more vulnerable to child trafficking and eventually become victims of Physical/Sexual assault and Social discrimination.
Shadowbox team launched a helpline number +91 8108691978 for people to report such incidents so that immediate action and help would save children from such exploitation.
Covid Relief Initiative (2021)
India has been battling a severe second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, and in order to stop the rapid spread of the virus, several states in the country have announced either lockdowns or restrictions on movement of people.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had considerable impact on the mental health and wellbeing of individuals. Many daily wage labourers and migrant workers have lost their jobs due to the lockdown, have little to sustain their livelihoods, are starving to death and in general are very stressed.
Maersk has come forward to help and support needy people in such crisis and tough times by providing 900 dry ration kits in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Chennai. We are really thankful to Maersk who have chosen Shadowbox Charitable trust to organise and lead this kit distribution program. We are looking for more such good social cause programs and be involved with Maersk in the coming future.
Covid relief initiative by Maersk organized by Shadowbox Charitable Trust in collaboration with Gadge Maharaj Charitable Trust started on 28th June 2021 in Sion-GTB nagar, Mumbai. This initiative by Maersk has been a great relief for needy people and beneficiaries living in Sion. All the covid guidelines set by the government were followed throughout the process. Dry ration kits were distributed with the help of volunteers to covid affected families, underprivileged people, migrant labourers, daily wagers, struggling middle-class families whose members have lost jobs and old-aged persons(Senior citizens) in Sion, GTB nagar. Shadowbox Trust and Gadge Maharaj Trust has been helping people since the first wave of the pandemic.
Each kit contained all the necessary grocery food items for over one month. Volunteers checked if people wanted something again.
We have completed distributing 300 kits in Mumbai and 200 kits in Pune, Bangalore and Chennai respectively.
Food and other basic amenities distribution during Covid pandemic (2020)
Shadowbox initiated food and other household commodity distribution for needy people.
During the covid lockdown, people had limited access to basic necessities and the most affected group during such a difficult situation were the poor people. We formed a team to help the people in need by providing foods prepared in Shadowbox home to poor people and street dwellers. This was followed by the distribution of Ration kits in Slum areas which contained all the necessary grocery items for over a month. These Ration kits were provided by Maersk.
We also distributed masks, hand sanitizer, and sanitary pads for the needy people.
Workshop for Women’s and Kids
Many workshops are organized for women wherein teachings are done for Rakhi making, Sewing clothes, Diya making and other decorative ideas are shared. Our main motive for conducting these workshops is to make them self reliant, independent and make a living out of it. They are encouraged to start small scale businesses which will help in their livelihood.
For children, group workshops are conducted regularly. Children are very social and like the presence of other kids. Group workshops impact the holistic development of children in several ways such as in Personality build-up, Inculcating positivity, Enhancing sensibility, Combating anxieties, Building responsibility, Augmenting confidence, Structuring social skills, and Building emotionality.
Our workshops involve interaction and fun but they also have very specific goals that are accomplished through focused direction and action.
